Abstract The Community Gallery records document the administrative and exhibition activities of the gallery from its founding in 1968 until its closure in early 1986. In 1967 members of the artist group FICE demanded that the Brooklyn Museum exhibit from the local community and display artwork created by BIPOC artists. Scope and Contents

Visible enscription "4-10-17. L. Buhle" etched into the plate's emulsion. Louis Buhle was the Brooklyn Botanical Garden's official photographer from 1915 until 1968. Viable that Buhle was affiliated in the creation of this glass plate; a claim supported by further evidence of his authhorship on institutional photographs throughout our collections.
