Scope and Contents The City as School (CAS) program attempted to solve issues in the Brooklyn School like the racial integration, overcrowding, and lack of use of cultural resources outside of the school. The Brooklyn Museum has a history of providing trainings and resources from teachers that dates back to 1916. 1916 saw the first official training for local teachers in art, visual literacy, and how to utilize the Museum and its collections in the classroom. This subseries is comprised of documentation of teacher workshops, events, and physical resources for teachers to utilize in their classrooms and their visits to the Museum.
