The Summer Teacher Institute (STI) has a history at the Brooklyn Museum that dates back to 1916. September of 1916 saw the first official training for local teachers in art, visual literacy, and how to utilize the Museum and its collections in the classroom. In 1990, the program was revitalized. Artists, museum educators, scholars, and teachers particpated in the thematic workshops and trainings.
