Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: This series is composed of publications produced by the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences, exhibition catalogs before 1897 or exhibitions not held at the Brooklyn Museum. Abstract The Community Gallery records document the administrative and exhibition activities of the gallery from its founding in 1968 until its closure in early 1986. In 1967 members of the artist group FICE demanded that the Brooklyn Museum exhibit from the local community and display artwork created by BIPOC artists.
