This is a poster from the first Community Gallery exhibition that featured the work of local artists who belonged to the group F.I.C.E. (Federated institute of cultural enrichment). F.I.C.E. was a group of Black artists from Bed-Stuy who had petitioned the Museum to include more local BIPOC artists.

Of special interest are the NEA budget cards, which were created as a way for concerned citizens to make their voices known in opposition to huge budget cuts.
