Scope and Contents
Series comprises of Elizabeth's Riefstahl's correspondence with Henry Abbott's descendants and various museum archives as part of her research on Abbott.
Items of interest:
Box 2, Folder 5. Correspondence between Abbott family and with Riefstahl and John D. Cooney. Includes a photocopy of the Abbott family crest and a photograph of Henry Abbott’s descendants. Includes correspondence of gift from Charlotte Abbott to the Brooklyn Museum: a pair of memorial bracelets woven from the hair of Henry Abbott.
Box 2, Folder 8. Includes incoming and outgoing, typed and handwritten correspondence from the Browns family, a branch of the Abbott family. Includes reference to a portrait of Abbott and includes a photograph of the portrait and original negative.
Box 2, Folder 9. Correspondence with Eric Uphill, Egyptologist and co-editor of the international Who Was Who in Egyptology. Includes draft and edits of Riefstahl’s entry on Abbott for Who Was Who in Egyptology.
