Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This collection contains photographs, negatives, contact sheets, and slides documenting activities of the Education department between 1962 and 2005. The photographs depict Youth Programming in the forms of gallery workshops, tours and artmaking sessions, including the popular Raiders of the Fine Arts and Arty Facts; Adult Programming including First Saturdays, gallery tours, and summer concerts; exhibition related programming including 'Children Meet the Artist: Romare Bearden' on the occassion of his 1981-1982 retrospective; school programs including after school tours and workshops with NYC schoolchildren and summer workshops for teachers; Community Services including programs for local Brooklyn senior centers and the art collective Where We At; activities of the Brooklyn Museum Art School; Community Gallery exhibitions featuring the work of Brooklyn artists; Administrative photographs featuring Education department staff and promotional images.
