Young Artists and Raiders of the Fine Arts, 1985-1996

Scope and Contents

Raiders of the Fine Arts, first briefly called Young Artist Classes, was a series of art programs for youths between the ages of six and thirteen years old. Museum educators worked with small groups of youths both in studios and in the gallery spaces to explore the Msueum's collections, art materials, techniques, and themes. Asan example, in the Spring of 1988 a class was offered called Charms & Chains: Jewelry Making I which explored the Museum's collection of jewely from around the world and offered students the opportunity to make their own by exploring a wide variety of techniques. Raiders was offered from 1985-1996, when the programming was expanded and renamed the Gallery/Studio program.

This sub series contains lesson plans, evaluations, correspondence, attendance/statistics, and project descriptions.
