Protest, Decolonize This Place, 2018

This folder includes protest materials from actions at the Museum. Partially in response to the Museum hiring a white curator of African Art Decolonize This Place called on the Museum to participate in the formation of a Decolonization Commission that would address injustices (paraphrased from the flier). They called on the Museum to make a Land Acknowledgement, the diversify curatorial and executive staff, a decolonial inventory, an upgrade in working conditions of ground staff, the replacement of David Berliner, undertaking of de-gentrification, and to boycott/divest in recognition of Brooklynites' role in the settler movement in Palestine.
